Academic Interventions

The Response to Intervention (RtI) Model is a district-wide initiative that allows for the utilization of resources for students in need of academic or behavioral support.  RtI provides a seamless system of intervention and resource which allow students to make significant progress whether they are at risk for failure or gifted and talented and not meeting their full potential.  The RtI model utilizes instructional strategies and behavioral supports consistent with Excelsior Springs School District high quality core practices, such as on-going screening and progress monitoring with data analysis to inform instructional interventions, flexible use of building personnel, as well as collaborative problem-solving among staff and parents to improve student performance.
